5 Reasons Why Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool

Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s. It used to be used to comment about an existing web page, an opportunity if you will, for visitors and readers alike to react to or give your opinion about that/a particular post. In the early days, what started as a single-sentence commentary has morphed into what can turn out to be pages of someone’s personal take on whatever it is that the blogger has written. As blogging continued to progress, online advertising tapped into the blog’s economic potential. Here are 5 reasons why I think you might want to consider use blogging as one of your Internet marketing tools.

1.Blogging is simple. The simplest way to get your opinion/comments about a particular subject on the Internet is through blogging. No real technical skills are required. It’s the same as having a virtual piece of paper that you can just write down your ideas, experiences, new products etc., and hope that the idea behind why you wrote the post comes out and entices your reader to respond or maybe even to try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.

2. Blogging is authentic. Let’s face it, advertising saturates our lives, to the point where we question the credibility of promoters’ claims. However, in blogs, real people share their real experiences, untouched by the paid advertising monster. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. It puts a personal touch on the who;e experience which makes it easier for you because you are buying a tried and tested product.

3. Blogging is free. Because blogging not yet proven itself as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as an add on to current marketing tools and because of this they offer it for free. To get free web time is definitely a bonus especially if you are just starting up. Let it also be said that paid blog pages can generate more income for a growing business.

4. Blogging builds credibility. As you get more known for writing about a particular product or industry, your readers come to see you and your posts as their go to resource for their own information needs. And ‘presto’ you have become an expert in your field. As result of this, more readers will visit your site and even more bloggers will link to your blogs. As the growth of your blog and therefore your readership base happens, companies will get in touch with you to advertise on your blog, or ask you to be an affiliate for them, which means you will get paid for every referral your site generates.

5. Blogging builds your market. You might think that unless you are some kind of star, that only your Mom will read your posts. Now, to be fair Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is (and why not? She does love you after all). But you should not depend on your Mom to help you increase your readership. Here are some ways to build your market through blogging:

Use your e-mail. Blogging is really exceeding e-mail’s popularity for it’s ability to quickly and effectively reaching and expand your market. It’s hard to believe, but logging in and downloading e-mail is getting to slow, and taking longer than clicking into a blog site. You can still get them to your site by using e-mail. If your e-mail is about something other than one of your blog posts, you can use your e-mail signature to give a link to any site you wish.

By using subscription. A easy way to get readers to give you their email address is by giving them the choice to subscribe to your blog. If you do this you should have some information that only those who subscribe will get. This entices your blog readers to subscribe and thereby you get their e-mail address. You need to be careful in how you use their e-mail, you want to avoid like the plague getting a reputation as a spammer.

By understanding your readers. It is fairly simple to conduct a survey of your readers so that you can understand where they are coming from (their profile and advertising preferences). Ask for feedback on a post, an ad link, or whatever else it is that you shared. This is like conducting an interview with your readers, without all of the face-to-face interaction.

By joining a blog network –A network of blogs could be a number of different blogs that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc. Consumers will see credibility and convenience in the clicking of one link which will lead to to several real bloggers, all blogging about the same thing. Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.

By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. Therefore, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another way to generate awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can also add interest to your blog site.

You will definitely give your business a boost by the effective use of blogging as an Internet marketing tool.
